For those of you looking to establish a more urban, budget home base from which to explore the rest of Maui, Yonegan Central might be your ideal getaway location.  Established in the beating heart of downtown Wailuku with its many eateries and the best little community theater this side of the Pacific, excitement lies at all points of the compass.   Just up-country to the North lies the Iao Valley, 4,000-acre, 10-mile long hiker’s paradise, home to one of Maui’s most recognizable landmarks, the 1,200-foot ʻĪao Needle.  To the West, is the Ma’alaea Harbor and the Maui Ocean Center, one of America’s best Aquariums. Beyond that, is the recovering Lahaina and the resort town of Kaanapali – where visitors are again welcome.  The South offers the pristine sandy beaches of  Kihei and Wailea, launch point for local dives and ocean cruises.  For variety and economy, there little that matches the charm of Yonegan Central.
